Greece Business Visa

Who Is a Greek Business Visa For?

A Greek business visa is intended for Turkish citizens travelling from Türkiye for meetings, trade fairs, client visits, negotiations or other short-term commercial activities. It is normally issued within the category C Schengen framework. Company owners, partners, employees and self-employed professionals may apply, provided they can document their business activities and explain the purpose of the visit.

This visa does not authorise employment in Greece or provide a route to long-term work. Activities involving installation, on-site services or technical assignments may require additional permission. Short stays are subject to the Schengen-wide limit of 90 days in any 180-day period. The permitted duration of stay and number of entries printed on the visa must also be respected.

Application Requirements

Turkish ordinary passport holders generally need a visa for business visits to Greece. Holders of other Turkish passport categories should check whether a short-stay exemption applies to their passport and intended activity. Greece should be the sole or main destination. For multi-country trips, the competent country is determined by the purpose and length of the stays; where these are equal, the first country of entry is relevant.

Your passport should have been issued within the previous ten years, remain valid for at least three months after your planned departure from the Schengen area and contain sufficient blank visa pages. Applicants should demonstrate their professional circumstances in Türkiye, access to adequate funds and plans to return. If an employer or host company covers the costs, its commitment should be documented.

  • The invitation should identify the host, visitor, purpose and proposed dates.
  • Accommodation and transport arrangements should match the business schedule.
  • Travel medical insurance must cover the Schengen area and meet the required minimum coverage conditions.
  • Application forms, financial records and company letters should present consistent information.

Application Steps

Start by checking whether your planned activity qualifies as a short business visit. Then confirm the application location responsible for your place of residence in Türkiye and consult its current checklist. Documentary requirements may differ depending on your employment status, the nature of the visit and the competent consular authority.

  1. Confirm travel dates, host organisations and responsibility for expenses.
  2. Collect your invitation, employment or business records and financial evidence.
  3. Complete the application form and check it against your passport, insurance and reservations.
  4. Book through the authorised channel and submit the file, providing biometrics where required.
  5. Track the application, answer additional requests and check the visa details when your passport is returned.

Supporting material such as correspondence, trade fair registration or evidence of an existing commercial relationship can help explain the trip. Relevant, verifiable documents are more useful than a large collection of unrelated paperwork.

Appointments and Biometrics

Appointments should be arranged through the authorised application channel serving your residential area in Türkiye. Availability can become limited during holiday seasons and major trade events. Securing an appointment does not establish when a decision will be made, so allow separately for appointment waiting time and consular processing.

Schengen applications generally involve fingerprints and a biometric photograph. Fingerprints collected within approximately the previous 59 months may be reusable, but a fresh collection can still be requested. Children under twelve are exempt from fingerprint collection. A biometric exemption does not necessarily remove the possibility of being asked to attend in person.

Processing Time

An admissible Schengen application is normally assessed in around 15 calendar days. Cases requiring further checks or additional documents may take up to approximately 45 calendar days. Appointment queues and passport delivery can add time outside this assessment period. Applications can generally be lodged up to six months before travel, subject to current submission rules.

An approaching meeting or exhibition does not automatically qualify an application for priority handling. Non-refundable bookings made before a decision carry financial risk. If your itinerary changes during processing, ask the application channel how updated information should be provided.

Reasons for Refusal

Possible refusal grounds include an unclear business purpose, an invitation that cannot be verified, insufficient financial resources or inconsistent documentation. Concerns about the intention to return, previous visa violations or inadequate insurance may also affect the assessment. Submitting every listed document does not by itself ensure a positive decision.

If refused, review the decision notice for the reasons and available remedies. Any appeal deadline and procedure should be checked against that notice. Before submitting a new application, address the earlier concerns with relevant evidence rather than simply repeating the same file.
