Croatia Business Visa

Son güncelleme:

Who Needs a Croatian Business Visa?

A Croatian business visa is a short-stay Schengen visa for Turkish citizens travelling from Türkiye for meetings, trade fairs, conferences, customer visits or contract negotiations. Business is the purpose of a category C application, not a separate permission to work. Croatia belongs to the Schengen area, so visits count towards the shared limit of 90 days in any 180-day period.

Ordinary Turkish passport holders generally need a visa unless they already hold a valid Schengen visa covering the trip or qualify for an exemption. Special, service and diplomatic passport holders may benefit from short-stay exemptions; current conditions should be checked. A business visitor visa should not be treated as permission to take paid employment or provide services in Croatia.

Application Requirements

Apply through Croatia when it is your only or main destination. For an itinerary covering several Schengen countries, the main destination is determined by the purpose and length of the visits. If no main destination can be established, the country of first entry is responsible. Finding an earlier appointment elsewhere does not justify applying through that country.

Your passport should have been issued within the previous ten years, remain valid for at least three months after your planned departure from Schengen, and contain at least two blank pages. Travel medical insurance must cover all Schengen countries and include emergency treatment, hospital care and medical repatriation, with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.

You should demonstrate the commercial reason for your visit, how expenses will be funded and why you will return to Türkiye. The invitation should identify both parties and explain the meeting dates, purpose and any sponsorship arrangements. Depending on the current official checklist, the Croatian host may also need to provide a prescribed guarantee letter or supporting company records.

Application Steps

  1. Confirm the itinerary: Establish meeting or event dates, overnight stays and any additional countries to identify the correct consular authority.
  2. Check current instructions: Review the Croatian representation’s requirements and the authorised application centre’s jurisdiction, appointment rules and document checklist.
  3. Prepare your file: Complete the form and assemble consistent invitation, employment, company, financial and travel documents.
  4. Attend your appointment: Submit the documents, provide biometrics where required and pay the applicable charges through the official application channel.
  5. Follow the application: Respond to requests for further evidence and check the visa details once your passport is returned.

Reservations should reflect a genuine itinerary and match the invitation. Buying non-refundable tickets or accommodation before a decision creates financial risk. Even if an employer or host covers all expenses, the authorities may request evidence of your personal finances and professional ties to Türkiye. Check names, passport numbers and dates across the entire file.

Appointments and Biometrics

Appointment availability varies by location, season and public holidays. Applications can generally be lodged up to six months before travel and should normally be submitted at least around 15 calendar days before departure. Allowing more time is advisable: this minimum planning window does not account for limited appointment availability or an extended assessment.

A photograph and, where applicable, fingerprints are required. Fingerprints collected for a Schengen application within the previous 59 months may be reused under the relevant conditions. New fingerprints can still be requested if records cannot be retrieved or identity checks require them. A biometric exemption does not automatically remove every personal attendance requirement, and an interview may be requested.

Processing Time

An admissible application is normally assessed in approximately 15 calendar days. Where further examination is needed, processing may extend to around 45 calendar days. Appointment waiting times, missing-document preparation and passport transport should be considered separately. Current workloads, holidays and individual checks can affect the schedule; a business invitation does not itself create an entitlement to priority processing.

Reasons an Application May Be Refused

Possible grounds include an unclear business purpose, an invitation that cannot be verified, insufficient financial evidence, unsuitable insurance or contradictions in the itinerary. Previous overstay issues, false documents and reasonable doubts about departure at the end of the visit may also affect the decision. Providing every item on a checklist does not ensure approval.

If refused, review the decision notice for the reasons and available remedies. Appeal deadlines, language requirements and the competent authority follow the applicable official procedure. A fresh application should address the refusal grounds rather than repeat an unchanged file. An issued visa also remains subject to entry checks at the border.

Ücret Bilgisi

The total cost depends on the current Schengen visa fee, any application centre service charge and optional services selected. Age-based rules or specific exemptions may affect the visa fee, while insurance, translation and courier costs may be additional. Confirm amounts, currency and payment methods through official channels before paying; the visa fee is normally non-refundable after refusal, and other charges have their own terms.

Sıkça Sorulan Sorular

A business visa covers short visits such as meetings, fairs and negotiations; it does not itself authorise work. Paid assignments, technical installation or service delivery may require separate permission, which should be checked with the authorities.
