Can I work while studying in Austria?

A student visa does not provide unrestricted work rights. For student residence permit holders, the employer generally needs an employment permit from Austria's Public Employment Service. A simplified framework may apply to work of up to 20 hours per week, but current eligibility must be checked and employment must not interfere with study.
