What matters when driving from Türkiye to Romania through Bulgaria?

The first Schengen external border check normally occurs when entering Bulgaria. The removal of routine checks on people at the Bulgaria–Romania internal land border does not mean documents cannot be examined elsewhere. Keep your passport, applicable visa or exemption evidence, accommodation details and onward plans accessible. Separately check driving-licence requirements, vehicle-use authorisation, motor insurance and road charges. Adding a non-Schengen country such as Serbia introduces its own entry conditions and may require another Schengen entry. This is particularly important with a single-entry visa. Verify temporary border measures with the relevant official authorities before departure.
