Do I need a separate transit visa if I already hold a Schengen visa?

A valid Schengen visa covering your journey generally removes the need for a separate type A visa. If entering Schengen, check its dates, number of entries, territorial validity and remaining permitted stay; holding a visa does not by itself assure admission at the border.
