Who Is the Czech Republic Tourist Visa For?
A Czech Republic tourist visa is a short-stay Schengen Type C visa for Turkish citizens visiting for holidays, sightseeing or cultural activities. It does not permit employment. The Schengen limit is 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the whole area. Your visa may authorise a shorter stay; check its validity dates, permitted duration and number of entries.
Turkish ordinary passport holders generally need a visa. Holders of special, service or diplomatic passports may qualify for short-stay exemptions and should check current conditions before travelling. For multi-country trips, apply to the country that is your main destination. If tourism stays are equal, the country of first entry may be responsible.
Application Requirements
You must document a credible tourism itinerary, sufficient funds and reasons to return to Türkiye. Employment, education, family circumstances and regular income are considered together. A substantial bank balance or hotel booking alone does not establish eligibility.
- Your passport must have been issued within the past 10 years, remain valid for at least three months after your planned Schengen departure and contain at least two blank pages.
- Travel medical insurance must cover all Schengen countries throughout your trip, with at least EUR 30,000 for emergency medical treatment and medical repatriation.
- Accommodation and transport arrangements must match the itinerary, including visits to other countries.
- Application forms, financial records and employment information must be accurate, current and verifiable.
Children, students, pensioners and sponsored applicants may need additional documents. Sponsorship does not remove the requirement to explain your own circumstances. Confirm the current checklist, regional application rules and any translation requirements through official channels before preparing your file.
Application Steps
- Set your itinerary and confirm that the Czech Republic is the appropriate country to process your application.
- Check passport validity and previous Schengen stays, then gather documents relevant to your circumstances.
- Complete the form and align the dates on your accommodation, transport and insurance documents.
- Check the designated application channel and book an appointment at an eligible centre.
- Submit your file, provide biometrics where required and pay the applicable charges.
- Track the application and check the visa details when your passport is returned.
The application centre receives and forwards your documents; it does not decide whether a visa is issued. The consular authority may request further evidence or an interview. Consider the financial risks of non-refundable purchases before a decision, and never present unpaid reservations as completed purchases.
Appointments and Biometrics
Check official Czech consular announcements for application centres and appointment arrangements in Türkiye. Your place of residence may determine where you can apply. Appointments can be harder to secure during holiday periods, so start preparing early. Waiting for an appointment is separate from the consular processing period.
Fingerprints are normally required. Suitable Schengen biometric records collected within the previous 59 months may be reused, although fresh fingerprints or personal attendance can still be requested. Children under 12 are exempt from fingerprint collection, but still require an application and any necessary parental authorisation.
Processing Times
A complete, admissible application is normally processed in approximately 15 calendar days. Cases requiring further examination may take up to around 45 calendar days. These are not promised completion dates. Additional document requests, seasonal demand and passport return arrangements can affect your travel preparations.
Applications can generally be lodged up to six months before travel and should normally be submitted at least 15 calendar days before departure. Allow additional time for appointment availability. A visa does not guarantee entry: border officers may request evidence of accommodation, return arrangements, insurance and sufficient funds.
Reasons for Refusal
Common concerns include an unclear travel purpose, unverified funds, conflicting bookings, unreliable documents or doubts about the intention to leave. Previous overstays, other visa breaches and inadequate medical insurance may also affect the decision. Large unexplained deposits shortly before applying may require supporting evidence.
A refusal notice explains the grounds and the available review procedure. Check its instructions and deadlines carefully. If submitting a fresh application, address the earlier concerns with consistent explanations and verifiable evidence rather than simply resubmitting an unchanged file.

Ücret Bilgisi
The total cost depends on the consular visa fee, any application centre charge and optional services selected. Confirm current amounts, age-related or other exemptions, and the accepted payment currency through official application channels. Insurance, photographs, translations and courier delivery may cost extra; the visa fee is generally non-refundable after refusal, while separate services have their own refund terms.
