How should a large deposit received shortly before applying be explained?

A large recent deposit does not automatically indicate an unsuitable source of funds. It may represent sale proceeds, a bonus, an inheritance or a transfer between personal accounts. Explain the actual transaction and support it with relevant records where available. Statements from both accounts can connect an internal transfer, while a sale agreement and payment record may explain sale proceeds. Do not describe borrowed money as savings or a gift; repayment obligations should be represented accurately. A short explanatory note can connect the documents but does not replace evidence of origin. Also check that the same money has not been counted twice.
