Purpose is considered alongside duration when identifying the main destination. A conference in Denmark may be the principal reason for travelling, but the genuine itinerary and evidence need to support that explanation. Registration, an event programme, an invitation and relevant employer documentation can show the connection. No conference or meeting automatically takes priority over every longer visit elsewhere. The extent of the holiday and the overall organisation of the journey also matter. Adding an incidental event solely to redirect the application is not an appropriate approach. Where responsibility remains unclear, provide the competent Danish representation with the actual dates and purposes and request guidance.
